About Frank Williams
Frank Williams is a conservative small business owner and Brunswick County native who is making his first run for public office. Frank grew up in the rural community of Northwest, located ten minutes west of Leland. His first leadership role came as a teenager, when he served as a Patrol Leader in Leland’s Boy Scout Troop 265, and his first job was working as a busboy at the Sandpiper Seafood House in Leland. Frank also spent two summers working in the summer student program at what was then Federal Paper Board in Riegelwood. He graduated from North Brunswick High School in 1988 and earned his undergraduate degree from N.C. State University in 1993.
Frank takes an active leadership role in the community, serving on the boards of directors of Communities in Schools of Brunswick County, the North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce and the Leland Area Rotary Club. He also serves on the Brunswick Community College Small Business Center Advisory Committee and chaired the Boy Scouts’ 2010 and 2011 fundraising breakfasts in Leland.
Frank has actively supported conservative causes and Republican candidates since his days as a student at N.C. State University. He has worked in the trenches as a precinct chair and was elected as a two-term Young Republican club chair in the mid-1990s as well as Young Republican State Chair in the late 1990s. Frank served as Chairman of the N.C. 7th Congressional District Republican Party from mid-2009 until early 2012. On November 19, 2011 Frank was inducted into the N.C. Republican Party Hall of Fame in recognition of his many contributions to the conservative cause. Frank has also served as Communications Director for the N.C. Property Rights Coalition since its founding and is a member of the National Rifle Association.
Professionally, Frank is president of Pioneer Strategies, a public relations agency he founded in August 2001.
Frank is an avid sports fan (particularly ACC basketball and football) and enjoys fishing, reading and relaxing on the beach. He is an active member of Northside Baptist Church.
