Frank Williams on the Issues

Jobs, the Economy & Free Enterprise
According to the N.C. Employment Security Commission, Brunswick County’s unemployment rate was 10.4% as of June 2011, up from 9.9% in May. Frank understands that we must create a business-friendly environment in which small businesses and entrepreneurs have the opportunity to grow, prosper and create jobs in Brunswick County. As your County Commissioner, he will fight regulations that unnecessarily weigh down our free enterprise system and push to ensure that our county’s rules and regulations are clear, reasonable and consistently enforced.
It’s Your Money
Frank understands that “public” money is your money. You work hard to earn a living and, as a taxpayer, you entrust our government with a portion of your hard-earned money. As your County Commissioner, Frank will work to ensure that our county government makes wise use of your tax dollars.
Low Taxes
As your County Commissioner, Frank will fight to keep your taxes as low as possible so that you can keep more of your hard-earned money.
Private Property Rights
Brunswick County has been one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation over the past decade. All too often, private property rights fall by the wayside as local governments address the challenges that come with growth. Frank is passionate about private property rights and has served as Communications Director for the N.C. Property Rights Coalition since its founding. As your County Commissioner, Frank will work to protect your private property rights as Brunswick County grows in the coming years.
Transparency
In America, government at all levels belongs to the people. As a Brunswick County resident, you have the right to know how your government does its business. As your County Commissioner, Frank will work to improve the transparency of county government. Frank will encourage county government to utilize technology to increase transparency and make public information easily accessible via the Internet. Additionally, he will push to have county commissioners’ meetings broadcast on television and streamed live on the county’s website.
Public Safety
One of our government’s highest priorities must be keeping our streets, communities and schools safe. As your County Commissioner, Frank will work to ensure that our first responders have the resources needed to do their jobs.
